Born during a raging hurricane, Alyson Montez has had a whirlwind career of as much randomness as you'd find debris in a tornado. From classical to rock, gypsy, mariachi and everything in between, she doesn't know how to say no to something new and unique.

Armed with an acoustic violin and a 6-string custom Wood Violins Viper, made by her close friend Mark Wood, she storms the musical seas, forever in search of a new conquest.

The oldest of two rambunctious Viper players, Alyson's parents are both artistic, her father a musician and her mother a master of many fine arts, including her latest project, dichroic jewelry making.

Beginning at the age of six, when inspired by the Brahms Hungarian Dances, her career blossomed with the classic Suzuki School, with fiddle class on the side. By high school, she had met Mark Wood, and her studies expanded to include the exploration of rock, jazz, regional fiddle styles and improvisation in all fields. She continued studies both in and outside of school until college.

Alyson ended up at Cornish College for the Arts (home of John Cage's prepared piano) where she met many brilliant colleagues, including a precocious soprano and an overly talented folk singer/composer, which broadened her horizons even further, incorporating folk and many Wagner duets into her musical education. Surrounded by creative, brilliant artists (and pirates), she was inspired to bound down her career path, listening to everything but only minding what improved her, not what classified her into a niche she may not want to be in.

She now resides in Los Angeles, following that dream of doing everything, and living up to the expectations she put upon herself when she was a mere first grader, all those years ago.
