Mariachi Divas (2007-2008; Los Angeles, CA)
Lead violinist and soloist for the Mariachi Divas, a renowned all-female mariachi band. Performances have included:

-Performing in Calexico for Cinco de Mayo alongside the world-class Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan.
-Repeating appearances on Azteca America's "Bienevidos a Casa".
-The LA Holiday Celebration, a Christmas special showcasing various talent from the Los Angeles area.
-A private event hosted by Michelle Obama.
-Regular appearences in Disneyland's Zocalo Park and California Adventure's Pacific Wharf.
-Various television and radio appearances, including Telemundo and CUCUY.

-1998: Second-place winner of the Merit Scholarship, Philharmonia Division; awarded a scholarship towards further musical education.

Cornish College of the Arts (2004-2005; Seattle, WA)
Accepted into Cornish on a scholarship in the Spring of 2004, where pursuits in both classical and more creative artistic fields were encouraged and part of the curriculum. Violinist for the premiere of several student composer works, studied chamber music and performed classical solo repertoire.

University of Houston (2002 – 2003; Houston, TX)
Student of the music program. Performed each semester in ballet and opera pit orchestras and symphony and chamber orchestras. Member of AURA, a contemporary chamber music group. Symphony orchestra premiered various modern pieces at concerts and recorded on two records, Peter Lieuwen's "Living Waters" and Robert Nelson's "Shadows and Music".

Klein High School (1998 – 2002; Spring, TX)
Continued focus on artistic development. Member of the top orchestra, All-Region Orchestra and awarded one or outstanding ratings on all solos and ensembles in the Klein Solo and Ensemble competitions. Named "Most Outstanding Musician". Performed in the pit orchestra for musicals, including Guys and Dolls and The Robber Bridegroom, both soloist and onstage cast member. Amongst other artistic endeavors, photography and swing dance were studied.

Doerre Intermediate (1995 – 1998; Spring, TX)
Emphasis on performing and visual arts. Member of the top performing orchestra, often awarded concertmistress and began studies in chamber music and full symphony orchestr. Awarded first division or outstanding ratings on all solos and ensembles played during Klein Solo and Ensemble competition. Competed with orchestra and won many first place awards. All-Region Orchestra member and given "Most Outstanding Musician” award.

Ehrhardt Elementary (1990 – 1995; Spring, TX)
Focus on performing and visual arts (5th grade strings, annual violin presentation in music class starting in 1st grade, cast and pit orchestra in school plays), and a member of the Gifted and Talented Program (explored creative ways to solve problems, look at many things, etc.); selected for various competitions and performances, including Odyssey of the Mind (creative thinking competition; 1994/1995).

“Irene Mitri began studying the violin at age five in her home state of Michigan, and at twelve gave her first solo recital in Detroit as a pupil of Mischa Mischakoff. She received her B.M. and A.D. degrees from Cleveland Institutes of Music and her M.M. from Yale University. Supplementing her performance education with studies in educational psychology and organizational behavior at Harvard University, she completed an Ed. M. in 1991. Irene performs Cuban and classical chamber music regularly in Seattle. She is a member of the Cuban Charanga band, Yerba Buena, and the tango group Tango Divino. Invited, along with other youth symphonies, to study music in Sarasota and perform in an orchestra with memebers of the other selected symphonies.

Studio of Eric Halen (2000 – 2002; Spring, TX)
“ERIC HALEN joined the Houston Symphony as Assistant Concertmaster in 1987. In 1997, he assumed the position of Associate Concertmaster and is presently Acting Concertmaster. After earning his bachelor’s degree at Central Missouri State University, he received his master’s degree at the age of 20 from the University of Illinois, while studying with Sergiu Luca. At age 23, he became artist/teacher of violin at Texas Christian University. American Festival for the Arts (2000; Houston, TX)
Participated in full orchestra and chamber music performances for three weeks of intensive musical study; studied privately from Peter Isaacson (Hardin-Simmons University), and took various classes in other musical studies outside of performance.

Lyricafest (2000 – 2003; Chatham, NJ)
Festival spent focusing solely on violin and viola playing in chamber ensembles, from quartets to octets. Run by Muriel and Laura Bossert, classical pianist and violin instructor at Longy School of Music, respectively, and Terry King, cello instructor at Longy. Students hailed mostly from East Coast music schools, including Longy, Julliard, New England Conservatory and Boston Conservatory. Guest instructors included the legendary Charles Castleman (Eastman).

Mark O'Connor Fiddle Camp (1999 – 2000; Nashville, TN)
Attended camp for two consecutive years, studying under the direction of such instructors as Mark O’Connor, Arnold Steinhardt (Guareneri String Quartet), Natalie MacMaster, Darol Anger (formerly of Turtle Island String Quartet), Fred Carpenter, Randy Elmore, Mark Wood (violinist, educator, performer, violin-maker, etc.), Jonny Frigo, Matt Glaser (Berklee), Crystal Plohman, Buddy Spicher, John Blake, and Claude Williams. Learned invaluable information for many things, including classical chamber music and violin solo, jazz improvisation and rock violin.

Studio of Jane Kimmes (1997 – 2000; Spring, TX)
“JANE C. KIMMES, Violin, has been a member of the Opera in the Heights Orchestra since 2000 and also served as concertmaster for several years. She was a longtime member of the Houston Symphony, the Houston Ballet, and Houston Grand Opera Orchestras. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin and the University of Iowa, she has played for the Cincinnati Ballet. She was Assistant Concertmaster for the Vera Cruz Symphony and the Xalapa Chamber Orchestra. Suzuki Academy (1990 – 1997; Spring, TX)
Studied violin with Carol Blue, piano with Linda Cox and harp with Mary Radspinner. Performed Suzuki repertoire and fiddle music in public performances and gave many recitals.
